WEEKS TIMESHARE

Weeks timeshare is what is now called “traditional timeshare”, whereby an owner owns a specific week and that week is theirs to use every year regardless. However, they do have the option to exchange it, depending on the season of their week. Timeshare is sold in three seasons. For example, RCI, the exchange company which facilitates the exchange, uses a chart of red, white and blue:

Red = Summer White = Spring & some Fall Blue= Winter & slower months

If you own a red week, you can exchange any of the 52 weeks. Owning a white week allows you to exchange during white or blue periods. And with a Blue week, you will only be able to exchange during the Blue time period. Obviously timeshare has changed drastically since the introduction of the points based ownership program. However, fixed week timeshare remains a great way to vacation. If you travel every year, the same week,
